FAQ

Why Should I use FeedShot?
FeedShot will improve your blog’s traffic by submitting your RSS or Atom feed to a large collection of search engines and news services with the click of a button. Blog search engines are heavily trafficked by people looking for breaking news and professional expertise.

If you want anyone to find your blog, you want to be listed in the major blog search engines. So the choice is yours: visit each one individually and hand-enter your information 10 times, or use FeedShot’s submission service and save yourself a few hours.

What’s the difference between FeedShot and a service like Pingomatic?
Pingomatic alerts a large number of “ping” servers that your blog has been updated. Many of these ping servers require an initial, manual submission of your feed, which is what FeedShot takes care of.

I heard FeedShot was free.
FeedShot was free while in beta, and is still free to submit to several sites. We have begun charging a small fee to submit to our entire catalog of sites in order to pay for bandwidth, website development and support. This small fee also deters spammers from submitting spam blogs.

Once I’ve used feedshot, I don’t need to do it again, right?

That’s correct, David. FeedShot is a one-time use service that performs the initial manual submission. Once youv’e used FeedShot, feel free to use a pinging service like www.Pingoat.com or www.Pingomatic.com to continue promoting your blog.
