Apologies to “Planet of the Blogs”
As of this morning FeedShot no longer submits to Planet of the Blogs, and I offer my apologies if I caused them undue work over the past four days. I didn’t realize before today that Planet of the Blogs is a specialty service (an Irish blog aggregator).
If you know of any other FeedShot-supported search engines that should be disabled, please post a comment or email support@feedshot.com.
Traffic is Heavy
The links keep coming in, and the traffic keeps growing. I can’t believe how many submissions we’ve had in the first four days…well over 1,000.
As an aside, the “submissions sent” number on the home page is the number of outgoing submissions, so dividing that by 18 or so gives the actual numbers of users that have submitted their blog to FeedShot.
Special thanks to several bloggers who linked to us and made this week a success: Lee Odden, Todd at Stuntdubl, and Tom Parish. You guys rock!
Launch
For those of you paying attention, welcome to the first entry in the FeedShot blog. I hope to discuss the day-to-day struggles of running the FeedShot service, solicit ideas for improving it, and generally have a good time talking about blog-related stuff.
It’s been a crazy four days since the launch of FeedShot. I’ve spent the last few evenings working on the marketing effort (sending emails to the blogs I frequent), answering support inquiries, fixing bugs (only a couple so far) and adding three new search engines to the list.
Needless to say, the reponse has been far beyond what I expected.
